T-Mobile Sidekick 3
Score: 80% When: July 2006 Worth: $300 - $350 What: Phones, T-Mobile phones
With its music, EDGE and Bluetooth capabilities, the sleek new Sidekick 3 may not be a giant leap forward (we're holding out for a 3G version once T-Mobile gets around to launching a high-speed network), but it's a worthy successor to one of the best messaging phones on the market. More...

Samsung SGH-T509
Score: 76% When: May 2006 Worth: $50 - $200 What: Slim phones, Samsung phones
While it can’t compete with the SLVR in the music department (or even the photo department, for that matter), you can’t argue with the wafer-thin T509’s stellar look and feel. Throw in an impressive display, EDGE and Bluetooth support, and you’ve got a one tantalizing handset. We’re hooked. More...

T-Mobile MDA
Score: 75% When: February 2006 Worth: $300 - $400 What: Business phones, T-Mobile phones
The T-Mobile MDA is the little communicator that could. Granted, it's void of fancy features such as high-resolution screens and 3G, but it manages to strike a fine balance between having just enough of the ones that really matter and size. Highlights include a first-rate thumbboard, near all-encompassing connecvitity and excellent battery life, whereas modest performance and limited memory should make power users think twice before purchasing the MDA. Everyone else, however, are likely to find themselves superbly pleased. More...

RIM BlackBerry 8700g
Score: 74% When: April 2006 Worth: $300 - $400 What: Business phones, T-Mobile phones
With its bright screen, full-QWERTY keypad, EDGE and Bluetooth support, and characteristically superb e-mail handling, the 8700g is a strong choice for anyone looking to take the BlackBerry plunge. That said, T-Mobile customers who want a BlackBerry device that fits in a pocket might be better off with the slightly smaller (if tougher to use) 7105t, which features a pseudo-QWERTY thumbboard, while bargain hunters may want to scoop up the 7290 for just $100 (or the similarly priced 7105t, for that matter). Samsung SGH-T609
Score: 72% When: May 2006 Worth: $150 - $200 What: Samsung phones, T-Mobile phones
Packing in Bluetooth, EDGE support, memory expansion, world-phone capabilities and a music player, the Samsung SGH-T609 clamshell makes for a sleek and capable fashion handset. While we wouldn't have minded a color external LCD or, say, an equalizer to go with the slick-looking MP3 player, the T609’s sharp looks and smart feature set won us over. More...

T-Mobile Sidekick 3
Score: 80% When: July 2006 Worth: $300 - $350 What: Phones, T-Mobile phones
The Sidekick 3 won't fit in a jeans pocket by any means, but at least it offers good control layout as well as a roomy and easy to use QWERTY keypad. The display is a bit of a disappointment, but perhaps the most intuitive interface we've ever seen and superb e-mail and IM features mitigate this. Unfortunately, the Sidekick 3 lacks some key music-playing features and its 1.3 Megapixel camera offers mediocre output. On the other hand, we experienced a relatively speedy mobile browser over the phone's EDGE connection as well as more than four hours of talk time with excellent voice quality. The standby time was measured to only 1.5 days and the speakerphone sounded a bit tinny, however, support for MP3 ringtones and Bluetooth headsets are a plus. More...
