Closely related to HP's Compaq nc4400 ultraportable, the tc4400 is a tablet edition which among other traits sports a 12.1-inch XGA display and a selection of Intel Core Duo processors. Starting at 2.1 KG, the system maxes out at 2 GB of RAM, while hard drives are available in either 60, 80 or 100 GB sizes spinning at 5,400 RPM. Wireless connectivity is provided by tri-mode Wi-Fi, while Bluetooth is optional; the integrated optical drive of the nc4400, however, has vanished into thin air.
Offering a more powerful alternative to the company's Compaq nc2400 ultraportable, Hewlett-Packard's 1.77-KG nc4400 retains the 12.1-inch widescreen display of its lesser sibling but adds Core Duo processors up to 2.13 GHz in speed. Hard drive capacity gets a boost and is available from 60 to 100 GB, while the maximum amount of memory receives a bump to 4 GB. Tri-mode Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 and Gigabit Ethernet remain unchanged, but the nc4400 gains a S-Video port and an extra USB 2.0 port.
Making for a stylish departure from HP's more business-oriented design, the 14.1-inch Pavilion dv2000 takes aim at consumers with a piano black, high-gloss finish and a choice of various Nvidia chipsets for graphics. Also available is an array of processor options from Intel and AMD, ranging up to AMD's Turion 64 X2 for maximum performance. Other qualities include an integrated 1.3 Megapixel camera, a DVD+/-RW optical drive, up to 120 GB of storage and more.
Starting at 1.3 KG, HP's new Compaq nc2400 ultraportable squeezes either a Dual Layer DVD or DVD/CD-RW combo optical drive into a chassis nary wider than its 12.1-inch widescreen display, itself driven by integrated graphics. Hosting up to 2 GB of memory, the system comes with 4,200 RPM drives ranging from 30 to 60 GB in size, as well as a choice of Intel Celeron M and Core Solo processors. For connectivity, the nc2400 is equipped with tri-mode Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 and Gigabit Ethernet.
Sporting a 15-inch display, processor speeds up to 2 GHz and up to 60 GB of storage, the unique selling point of HP's Compaq nc6140 notebook is its integrated EV-DO connectivity.
