There are many alternatives out there for those who would like to give their PDA some protection in the shape of a case - and we've tested two of Krusell's leather cases.

The number of cases of all kinds on the market - hard cases, soft cases, transparent cases, waterproof cases and all other kidns of cases - is enormous. It's actually so many out there that it's difficult for manufacturers to differentiate, but Swedish case manufacturer Krusell has found an excellent way to do so, and delivers not only an impressive range of leather cases for mobile devices, but also provides a unique system called MultiAdapt that gives a user a wide variety of choices when it comes to what to actually attach your mobile device to.
 | Krusell's leather case for the Compaq iPAQ, closed
| I received two leather cases from Krusell, one for Compaq's iPAQ Pocket PC, and the other for Handspring's Visor series - both in black leather, and of an overall high quality with good looks. Both cases use the same opening and closing system that's described in further detail below, and they both accomodate credit cards in their lids; a trade which isn't all good because if you should happen to put too many of them in there, they could potentially scratch the PDA display.
The iPAQ case fits the iPAQ very good, and flips open over the top as you can see from the illustrations. The case is not expandable so you will not be able to have sleeves of any kind attached to the iPAQ while using it, but you can easily reach all of the buttons on the front and on the top of the device, and it also leaves room open for attaching the AC power and a serial or USB synchronization cable to the bottom of the device while it's still in the case. Additionally, you can also reach the reset hole that's located at the bottom of the iPAQ without removing the case, and holes have been carved for the LED indicators to be visible (however, they are not when the case is closed, which is a slight drawback but cannot be blamed on Krusell since Compaq chose to put them there).
Like the iPAQ case, the Handspring Visor case is also a snug fit, and uses the same flip-over model for opening and closing the case. Accessing all buttons is made just as easy on the iPAQ case, and apart from that there's really not much more to say aside from that it's made of the same excellent quality skin and share many of the same features.
