Samsung Q530, Q430 and Q330 Premium Notebooks Unveiled

By Sindre Lia, Monday 5 July 2010

The new Samsung Q530, Q430 and Q330 premium notebooks aim to deliver top-notch mobility solutions to mobile travelers and consumers alike.

The new Samsung Q Series will be available globally this month, seeking to offer consumers the ultimate in mobility, style and power. The flagship product of the new Q Series, the Samsung Q530, has been designed to meet the demands of heavy mobile users, particularly business travelers and consumers who rely on a high performance PC while on the go.

The Samsung Q530 boasts a 15.6" HD LED display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, promised to produce sharp images and bold colors. The LED technology is also less demanding on the battery. The Samsung Q430 comes packed with all the features of the Q530, but the stylish thin-and-light notebook sports a 14" HD LED display and weighs in at only 2.09 kg.

The Samsung Q530 and Q430 are also capable of powerful graphics performance and feature the latest NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M graphics card with 1GB GDDR3 dedicated video memory. The new Q Series notebooks also include USB and HDMI ports, a 3-in-1 card reader as well as a built-in optical disk drive.

The Samsung Q330, another thin-and-light notebook, weighs in at 1.97 kg and incorporates a 13.3" HD LED display. The Q330 is equipped with a hybrid graphic feature, allowing users to switch between an integrated Intel GPU for shared graphics and the NVIDIA GeForce 310M discrete graphics card. Running with shared graphics and a 5-cell 5900 mAh battery, the Samsung Q330 is claimed to offer up to 7 hours of battery life.

All models in the Q Series range offer Intel Core i3 or Intel Core i5 processors. The new notebooks are also DLNA certified, meaning that they can seamlessly connect with DLNA certified smartphones and cameras, for instance. There's also Wi-Fi Wireless-N and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity. Additionally, all Q Series notebooks offer Samsung's USB Sleep and Charge solution, which has the ability to charge devices such as mobile phones and MP3 players, even when the notebook is in sleep mode.
