Apple's entry-level Macbook today received an upgrade to its base configuration while maintaining its $999 starting price.
Apple today upgraded its entry-level Macbook while maintaining its $999 starting price. The Macbook can now be purchased with a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, NVIDIA GeForce 320M integrated graphics with 256MB shared memory and a battery providing up to 10 hours of battery life. The Macbook comes standard with 2GB DDR3 RAM and a 250GB HDD. These aspects can be upgraded to 4GB and 250GB for $100 and $150, respectively.
The Apple Macbook sports a 13.3-inch LED backlit display with a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels, and also includes Wi-Fi 802.11 Wireless-N and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR connectivity. Furthermore, it's got a DVD drive and the following ports: 2x USB 2.0, Ethernet, Mini DisplayPort, headphone and microphone.
It's worth noting that the Macbook Pro 13-inch recently got upgraded with similar specifications too, starting at $1200 with an aluminum unibody design.
