Canon PowerShot SX210 IS Video Tour
Canon's top of the line point-and-shoot rocked out with a 14x optical zoom that could be deployed while recording 720p HD video, a three-inch widescreen LCD in back, Control dial, and oodles of beginner-friendly and advanced features to make this one of the most versatile and equipped cameras we've had the pleasure of shooting with for quite some time. We had few gripes about the Canon PowerShot SX210 IS, so check out our video tour here:
Canon PowerShot SX210 IS Still Image Quality
As mentioned in our video above, the Canon PowerShot SX210 IS exhibited a still image and video performance tantamount to the Canon PowerShot SD1400 IS and touchscreen Canon PowerShot SD3500 IS. Dynamic range and noisy higher ISO levels were the main issues, but what point-and-shoot doesn't have those problems? Overall, the Canon PowerShot SX210 IS gave us some great images and video for a point-and-shoot. Check out our image samples below:
No wobbly frames or jerky movement—the Canon PowerShot SX210 IS succeeded in fluid, sharp 720p HD video with only some low light noise to speak of. We could use Color Accent and Color Swap in video mode, and the Auto Focus was excellent. For a point-and-shoot, you can't really get any better than a 14x optical zoom in your pocket to be used in conjunction with impressive 720p HD video.
Price and availability
The Canon PowerShot SX210 IS will be available in April 2010 for $350.
