Verizon Wireless ramps up its cell phone portfolio with the Salute by ZTE, the carrier's latest mainstream cell phone.
Verizon Wireless recently released two new cell phones: the Salute by ZTE and the Gusto by Samsung. The Verizon Wireless Salute is the carrier's first phone by ZTE, targeting the mainstream cell phone user. The Samsung Gusto pretty much falls into the same category, though it sports enhanced calling features compared to most phones of this kind.

The Verizon Wireless Salute sports a slide-out numeric keypad, 2.4-inch screen and a 1.3-megapixel camera. It'll come pre-loaded with Verizon Wireless' Social Beat application for easy access to Facebook, Twitter and MySpace accounts, as well as offering VZ Navigator capabilities.
Price and Release Date
It's available now for $70 with a new two-year contract. A $50 mail-in rebate will be given when signing up for a qualifying plan.
