T-Mobile's new myTouch 3G Slide is set to be released in June, featuring several new aspects that improve the Android 2.1 experience.
T-Mobile will release the new myTouch 3G Slide in June, promising a smartphone that sports a roomy slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a crisp, high-performance touchscreen. The myTouch 3G will offer three new features, including Faves Gallery, myModes and Genius Button, all emphasizing this phone's consumer QWERTY phone orientation. Andrew Sherrard, T-Mobile's VP of Product Development, demonstrates the carrier's upcoming consumer QWERTY phone in the videos below:
Faves Gallery
Faves Gallery presents up to 20 of your favorite people and the different ways to communicate with them - calls, texts, e-mail, instant messaging, social networking updates - in a dedicated application accessible through a soft button and a widget complete with photos, contact information and one-touch ability to respond. All Faves get special status on the myTouch 3G Slide, meaning that you'll receive notifications as well as being able to respond directly without launching other tools.
myModes
myModes aims to draw a line between work and home by creating different themes with homescreen apps, widgets and wallpapers to empower people in the different roles they play each day. You can set myModes to switch at a designated time, by location, or manually with the option of create and store up to 10 customized modes.
Genius Button
The Genius Button, powered by Dragon Dictation from Nuance, is an easy-to-access button on the front of the myTouch 3G Slide. It allows the use of voice commands to control the phone and its features including making calls, composing and sending texts and e-mails, searching the Web or your surroundings. It'll also read text messages aloud, and lets you dictate responses naturally.
