T-Mobile G2 Gets Android 2.2 and 800 MHz Snapdragon CPU

By Sindre Lia, Thursday 2 September 2010

The T-Mobile G2 will be running Android 2.2 and will get an 800MHz Snapdragon processor.

As the upcoming T-Mobile G2 gets closer to release, T-Mobile has revealed more specifications through a new teaser page. While it was already known that the T-Mobile G2 would offer 14.4Mbps HSPA+ connectivity, the carrier now says the following about the smartphone:

"This fall T-Mobile brings you the first smartphone to take advantage of 4G speeds on our advanced HSPA+ network.

Brace yourself for blazing-fast downloads, browsing, and search. Stop waiting around for Web pages to load and open up the throttle on the 800 MHz Scorpion processor (Editor's note: Scorpion is the codename for the Snapdragon core)."

  • Android 2.2 for optimum performance
  • One-touch Quick Keys for fast access to Google shortcuts and applications
  • Adobe Flash Player 10.1 ready

The T-Mobile G2 is expected to be "fully unveiled" later this month. Meanwhile, check out some images of the smartphone below.
