T-Mobile's latest teaser page turns out to be promoting the upcoming G1 Blaze QWERTY slider powered by Android 2.2 and 14.4Mbps HSPDA connectivity.
The BGR reports that T-Mobile's recently created teaser page is promoting the upcoming G1 Blaze QWERTY slider. According to T-Mobile, the G1 Blaze will theoretically support up to 14.4Mbps data transfers in areas where T-Mobile's HSPA+ network is available.
The G1 Blaze is expected to offer a 3.7-inch WVGA screen, slide-out QWERTY keyboard as well as being powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and Android 2.2 Froyo. The latter will for instance provide improved corporate messaging functionality, significant improvements in gaming and Web browsing performance as well as support for the upcoming Adobe Flash 10.1 plug-in.
Given T-Mobile currently lacks a popular high-end QWERTY slider, it'll be interesting to see whether the carrier aims to take advantage of Android 2.2's improved corporate features in a push towards mobile professionals. It'll also be interesting to see whether the G1 Blaze introduces additional features to potentially accompany such an effort, similar to how the recently released myTouch 3G Slide offers consumer enhancements.
The original G1 faced a rough ride, and despite being the first carrier to embrace Android, T-Mobile's Android phones have basically lived in the shadows of more well-known Android phones like HTC's own-branded phones and Verizon Wireless' Droid phones. Let's hope the G1 Blaze will live up to the "The Revolution Continues" slogan and turn into a shining star on the increasingly crowded Android sky this fall.
