Samsung Glyde The Samsung Glyde makes a much better competitor to the LG Voyager than the Apple iPhone. Against the Voyager, also on Verizon Wireless, the Glyde has much better Web browsing and GPS navigation. The menu setup is also better, with a slicker interface and more customizations. On the other hand, the Voyager has V Cast mobile TV and a better camera. Neither really comes close to the iPod's intuitive, responsive screen and interface, and V Cast Music isn't nearly as friendly or fun as the iTunes software and store. Most of all, though, our biggest problem with the Glyde is with its poor touch response, especially when we could tell from the visual and haptic feedback we were pressing the buttons, but nothing happened on screen. These issues should have been sorted out before the phone made its way to market. Release: May 2008. Price: $150.
Pros: Slick interface with cool effects. Top-notch, full HTML Web browser rendered pages perfectly. Navigation was sharp; we like VZ Nav improvements.
Cons: Touchscreen didn't register our taps, wasn't responsive enough. Multimedia features need an overhaul to compete with iPhone / iTunes. Better camera lens, please.
