There's something brewing at HP's headquarter and it's got a lot do with the future and Palm.
While we were busy talking about the potential of WebOS, Palm was busy talking about how it was instantly going to make iOS redundant. Meanwhile, Google cranked out update after update eating the WebOS potential one piece a time.
Today, Android, iOS, bada OS, Symbian and Windows Phone 7 are all on their way to cover everything WebOS was supposed to be about. WebOS had huge potential that got wasted by poor sales and marketing strategies. Up until recently, Palm's future looked pitch black, but then HP snapped WebOS as well as Palm's patents out of Apple's hands.
Apple answered by recruiting Palm employees by numbers. You can bet Apple and everybody else in the industry aren't underestimating Palm now that former smartphone leaders at HP have taken control over Palm. With the introduction of WebOS 2.0 later this year, HP will flex muscles and ultimately aim to bring the future to your Palm.
