It's bound for a July release on Verizon Wireless: Meet the Motorola Droid X powered by an improved Motoblur atop Android 2.1.
If you've followed the rumors around the Motorola Shadow lately, Gadget University now offers hands-on photos of the device. According to one of the photos, the final model name also seems to be Motorola Droid X.
So, what does the Motorola Droid X offer? A 4.3-inch (diagonally) capacitive screen optimized for its FWVGA resolution (854 by 480 pixels) for starters, making it slightly longer than for instance the HTC EVO 4G and its 4.3-inch screen with WVGA resolution (800 by 480 pixels). A user has posted a few comparison images over at AndroidForum:
Gadget University also confirms that the Motorola Droid X will sport a 8-megapixel autofocus camera with 720p HD video recording. Unlike the recently announced Milestone XT720, which will offer Xenon flash, the Droid X will sport dual LED flash. However, like the XT720, the Droid X will offer a built-in HDMI port.
The Motorola Droid X, to make its debut on Verizon Wireless in July if BGR's source is correct, will additionally feature an improved version of MotoBlur atop Android 2.1.
