LG Optimus 7 Boasts Windows Phone 7 and Instant DLNA Sharing
By Sindre Lia, Monday 6 September 2010
The upcoming LG Optimus 7 smartphone powered by Windows Phone 7 will offer instant DLNA sharing.
LG recently showcased new Wi-Fi sharing technology during the IFA trade show in Germany. The company used the upcoming LG Optimus 7 smartphone powered by Windows Phone 7 to demonstrate the sharing technology.
More specifically, the LG Optimus 7 can share multimedia files with all DLNA compliant devices with a simple finger flick. The pre-installed feature allows users to send files directly from the phone's media galleries, without having to leave for another application.
The LG Optimus 7 will automatically display compatible devices in the same Wi-Fi zone and let users literally flick media files to the targeted device. Users can transfer multimedia saved on their phones -- 720p HD videos, high-resolution photos and high-quality music files -- wirelessly to their TV or home theater system.
In addition to a 5-megapixel camera with 720p video recording, the LG Optimus 7 is expected to sport a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, WVGA capacitive touchscreen, 3.5mm audio jack and slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The phone has been known as the LG Panther GW910 to date.
Price and Release Date
The LG Optimus 7 will go on sale early in the fourth quarter of this year, and in October 2010 in Europe to be exact. The price has yet to be announced. The LG Optimus 7 is also expected to be released in the U.S. this holiday season.
