LG Fathom for Verizon Wireless Kicks Off Office Mobile 2010

The LG Fathom QWERTY phone is one of the first new Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphones to take advantage of Office Mobile 2010.
Following the announcement of the LG Ally QWERTY smartphone powered by Android 2.1, Verizon Wireless today officially announced the LG Fathom QWERTY smartphone powered by Windows Mobile 6.5.3. The LG Fathom will be available in Verizon Wireless business sales channels beginning May 27 and online and in Communications Stores beginning June 3.
Office Mobile 2010
While the LG Fathom sports a resistive touchscreen, Windows Mobile 6.5.3 sports new magnifier technology to improve finger-navigation in for instance productivity applications. LG Fathom users will also be able to download the new Office Mobile 2010 for free. Here's a video demonstration of the new productivity suite:
LG Fathom Features
The LG Fathom is equipped with a 3.2-inch WVGA resisitve touchscreen, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, full slide-out QWERTY keyboard with simultaneous touchscreen capabilities, microSD memory slot, and a 3.2-megapixel camera.
The phone also sports Wi-Fi Wireless-N and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity (supporting headset, hands-free, dial-up networking, stereo, phone book access, basic printing, basic imaging, object push for vCard and vCalendar, file transfer and serial port profiles).
Other features include a one-touch speakerphone and speaker-independent voice commands, text-to-speech and voice-activated dialing for up to 4,000 entries, as well as a dedicated task manager key for quick access to mobile Task Manager.
Windows Mobile Device Center and ActiveSync allows users to synchronize Outlook, Office and contents from Microsoft Exchange Server. There's also a pre-loaded Adobe Reader LE application for viewing PDF content.
Worldwide Roaming and Navigation
Sporting both CDMA and GSM radios, users can make voice calls in more than 220 countries and accessing data in 200 countries, 110 with 3G speeds. The phone also gets VZ Navigator Global capabilities, providing turn-by-turn directions and maps in English while navigating through more than 20 destinations such as Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. This application also marks distances in miles or kilometers and finds restaurants, gas stations, banks/ATMs and other popular spots using the Local Search feature.

Price and Release Date
The LG Fathom will be available in business sales channels beginning May 27 and in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores nationwide and online beginning June 3 for $250 with a two-year contract. A $100 mail-in rebate will be given when signing up for a qualifying plan.
