HTC Sense arrived on AT&T Wireless this week courtesy of the attractive HTC Aria Android 2.1 smartphone. Check out our video preview here.
In less than a week, AT&T Wireless has started offering two very attractive smartphone models in the $100 range after a mail-in rebate, namely the HTC Aria and the iPhone 3GS 8GB. The iPhone 3GS is naturally well-known to mankind, but it's perhaps the first time you've heard about the HTC Aria. Here's a video demonstration of the HTC Aria in action:
HTC Aria brings choice to AT&T customers
We've been talking about the improved HTC Sense experience for months, and that's because it's nearly impossible to dislike for any smartphone user. With HTC Sense atop Android 2.1 you simply get the feeling that what you're holding in your hand really makes sense. Among the new features of HTC Sense, we find the multi-touch pinch-to-zoom gesture and Friend Stream, which delivers Facebook, Twitter and Flickr updates in a single, consolidated view.
It's also a fact that the HTC Aria brings a choice to AT&T customers, a choice between the iPhone experience and the HTC Sense experience. Perhaps the strongest statement of HTC Sense's arrival on AT&T and other carriers is the fact that Apple has tried to prevent it from happening.
Google recently announced that 160,000 Android phones are now shipping every day, largely thanks to mainstream phones like the HTC Aria. It can't match the high-end Android phones when it comes to 3D gaming and other high-performance multimedia capabilities, but if you're looking for an overall experience that is budget-friendly yet powerful and customizable (there's now 65,000 apps and widgets in Android Market), we highly recommend checking out the petite HTC Aria.
The HTC Aria is available now on AT&T Wireless for $230 with a new two-year contract. A $100 mail-in rebate will be given when signing up for a qualifying plan.
