The upcoming BlackBerry Bold 9800 powered by BlackBerry OS 6 has received an early preview.
Courtesy of a Chinese BlackBerry site, what's bound to become one of the hottest smartphones this year has received an early preview, namely the BlackBerry Bold 9800 powered by BlackBerry OS 6. The QWERTY touch slider was recently revealed to initially be exclusively available from AT&T in the U.S. later this year, and here's an in-depth video demonstration of the new BlackBerry OS 6 (IntoMobile provides a description in plain English here):
Research In Motion hasn't been happy about the leaks surrounding the BlackBerry Bold 9800, but, again courtesy of the Chinese BlackBerry site, high-quality images of the upcoming smartphone is now available, revealing an appealing design that will for sure turn heads when you slide out its QWERTY keyboard. BlackBerry Bold 9800 vs. Apple iPhone HD
AT&T recently revealed that as many as 40% of new iPhone customers are business / enterprise users. With the introduction of the BlackBerry Bold 9800, RIM is apparently hoping to give the upcoming iPhone HD competition in AT&T's smartphone portfolio. As a result of this new battle, RIM has dropped the SureType technology and rather aims to compete directly with the iPhone experience. It remains to be seen whether RIM will succeed with its mission, but on the other hand, if the out-of-box experience will be anywhere close to what's promised in the demo below, many business / enterprise users will likely think twice about choosing the iPhone:
