Starting today, iOS developers can continue using third-party development tools.
Apple today issued a statement regarding changes to the iOS Developer Program license in sections 3.3.1, 3.3.2 and 3.3.9 to relax some restrictions the company put in place earlier this year.
According to Apple, developers will now be allowed to continue using third-party development tools, as long as the resulting apps do not download any code. Apple says this will give developers the flexibility they want, while preserving the security they need.
In addition, Apple will also publish App Store Review Guidelines to help developers understand how submitted apps are reviewed. The company hopes more transparency will ultimately lead to more successful apps for the App Store.
