AT&T and LG today announced the availability of the LG Incite (specs), the first Windows Mobile smartphone by LG for the U.S. market. AT&T will be the exclusive provider of this all-touch smartphone.
The LG Incite boasts domestic and international 3G capabilities, as well as built-in aGPS, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity. The LG Incite is equipped with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, Microsoft Office Mobile and Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5.
Furthermore, the LG Incite sports a 3-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels (WQVGA), and a 3-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities. Users have a choice of on-screen virtual keyboards - a full QWERTY keyboard in landscape mode and a 20-key keyboard in portrait view - with haptic keys that provide vibration feedback.
The LG Incite also offers users choice in terms of screen navigation, including finger based navigation, a scroll button to the upper right of the screen or a stylus. Additionally, a drag-and-drop favorites menu aims to provide quick access to the applications that matter most to the user.
The LG Incite is pre-loaded with AT&T Navigator, powered by TeleNav, featuring turn-by-turn voice and on-screen directions with 3D moving maps that can be used in vehicles or while walking. There's also support for business and personal e-mail access through Microsoft Direct Push and AT&T's Xpress Mail service, instant messaging and the AT&T Mobile Music service, which provides access to downloadable music from eMusic.
The LG Incite is available now from AT&T for $300 with a two-year contract. A $100 mail-in rebate will be given when signing up for a qualifying plan.
