Samsung today announced its entrance in the U.S. notebook market. The product line-up includes Windows Vista powered notebooks in five different categories - Thin & Light, All Purpose, Business, Desktop replacement and the Netbook segment.
Each notebook, with the exception of the Samsung NC10 netbook, will feature the latest Intel Centrino 2 processor technology with Intel Core 2 Duo processors, 3GB RAM, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n connectivity, 1.3-megapixel camera, 3x USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit LAN, Bluetooth 2.0 and HDMI output.
The Samsung X360 and X460 (compare) are 13.3- and 14.1-inch thin-and-light notebooks with an MSRP starting at $1600. The X360 weighs in at less than three pounds and claims a battery life of 10 hours of continuous usage. Both models support Samsung's latest 300 nits LED backlit LCD display, and will offer a 128GB Solid State Drive option.
The Samsung NC10 (specs) is a Windows XP powered netbook featuring a 10.2-inch display (1024 x 600 pixels), 5200 mAh battery (up to 8 hours) and a 160GB hard drive, carrying an MSRP of $500. It'll be available in white or metallic blue color options, and boasts a full host of I/O ports, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR and a built-in 1.3-megapixel camera.
TheSamsung Q310 (specs) is an all-purpose notebook with MSRPS of $1150 and $1300, featuring a 13.3-inch display. It'll offer 250 or 320GB hard drives, an ExpressCard 34 slot and a DVD burner.
The Samsung R610 (specs), with an MSRP of $1050, is a desktop replacement that features a 16-inch display, 512MB Nvidia GeForce 9200M GS graphics, a 250GB HDD, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n and Intel Centrino 2 mobile processor.
The enterprise-focused Samsung P460 and P560 (compare), which are semi-ruggedized notebooks with an MSRP range of $1150 to $1400, will offer Nvidia GeForce 9600M GS dedicated graphics, a spill resistant keyboard, a shock resistant hard drive, a fingerprint reader and Intel AMT 4.0 support.
