We guess the LG Prada 2 speaks for itself as a fashion accessory, but it's got a pretty impressive feature set on paper too. See a gallery inside.
LG and Prada today announced that the LG Prada 2 will be released before the end of the year. Almost identical to the original, the new fashion phone has a hidden secret: A slide-out QWERTY thumbboard. When we reviewed the original last year, we generally liked this fashion concept.
Compared to the original, the LG Prada 2 comes with 7.2Mbsp HSDPA connectivity for European networks, a 5-megapixel camera with Schneider-Kreuznach lens and Wi-Fi. The new QWERTY thumbboard is promising a metallic feel, and the additional on-screen, call and hang-up buttons are claimed to provide tactile feedback.
The LG Prada 2 is also claimed to offer a full HTML browser, though there's no word on what browser it'll offer. On the original, we weren't able to give the browser a proper run through, as we had trouble maintaining an EDGE connection on the phone. Hopefully, the LG Prada 2 will shine in that department. Ultimately, the LG Prada 2 would also have been released in a version supporting AT&T's HSDPA network, but it doesn't seem like that'll happen.
The new LG Prada 2 will be available with a starting price of 600 Euros in Italy, UK, France, Germany, Spain and Netherlands in Q4 2008.
