Casio Exilim EX-FH20 20x ultrazoom joins the Casio Pro EX-F1By Sindre Lia, Tuesday 16 September 2008
Most of us remember the Casio Pro EX-F1, but soon you can do high-speed burst shooting and movie shooting with an even more compact camera, the Casio Exilim EX-FH20 ultrazoom.

Casio today announced the release of its new 9-megapixel Casio Exilim EX-FH20, capable of ultra high-speed burst shooting at 40 fps and can record high speed movies at up to 1,000 fps. In March of this year, Casio released the Exilim Pro EX-F1, capable of burst shooting at 60 fps and movie recording at up to 1,200 fps.

The Casio Exilim EX-FH20 is designed to appeal to a broader range of users. In addition to simplifying controls by placing all shooting mode settings on a single dial, the camera has also received a 26mm equivalent 20x wide-angle optical zoom lens despite its compact body - 27% smaller and 28% lighter than the EX-F1.

The Casio Exilim EX-FH20 can capture action high definition with 40 fps burst shooting at a resolution of 7 megapixels (3072 x 2304 pixels). Users can select from seven burst settings, allowing them to capture from 1 fps up to 40 fps in a single burst. Further, users can prerecord up to 40 still images not just at the instant they press the shutter button, but before. This is promised to help catch vital moments.

The camera also features sensor-shift image stabilization that supports power-zoom shots. Additionally, the Casio Exilim EX-FH20 offers a high-speed anti-shake function, which corrects images by automatically synthesizing multiple images captured during high speed burst shooting. With or without a tripod, a high speed night scene feature also aims to improve high speed night shots.

The Casio Exilim EX-FH20 can record HD movies at 1280 x 720 pixels (720p) at 30 fps. Additionally, users can select from recording speeds of 1,000 fps, 420 fps or 210 fps, enabling recording of high speed movie footage of motion too fast for the human eye, for ultra slow motion playback. It's possible to switch from the 30 fps standard speed to high speed recording at 210 fps during recording at the touch of a button.

The Casio Exilim EX-FH20 will be available in October 2008 for $600.
