Sony unveils two new $1000 notebooks with integrated graphics, the Sony Vaio CS and the Sony Vaio NS.
Sony today introduced the Sony Vaio NS and the Sony Vaio CS notebooks, succeeding the Vaio NR and Vaio CR, respectively.
The Sony Vaio NS is equipped with a 15.4-inch widescreen display, and Sony's XBRITE-ECO LCD technology for sharper details and more vivid colors. Packing a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 processor, 3GB RAM, and 250GB hard drive storage, the Sony Vaio NS is aimed at everyday computing. Additionally, the Sony Vaio NS has an integrated A/V mode, featuring a dedicated menu for quicker access to nine user-selected programs. Compare the Sony Vaio NS to competing models here.
A Sony Vaio NS with a Blu-ray drive starts at $1000, while a version sans Blu-ray starts at $650.
The Sony Vaio CS notebook is available in four glossy colors - sangria, cosmopolitan, dove and black. A standard black matte finish is also available. The notebook is equipped with a 14.1-inch widescreen display, matched with an optional Blu-ray drive. A built-in A/V slide control also lets you control all functions (play, pause, rewind, fast-forward, stop, eject etc.).
The Sony Vaio CS is packed with a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 processor, 4GB RAM and a 320GB hard drive. It also offers a uniquely configured keyboard, designed with spacing between the keys, for a more comfortable typing experience.
