Sony's new high-end LCD HDTVs, the Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR7 and the Sony Bravia KLV-40ZX1M, will be released in December.
Sony today introduced two new Bravia flat-panel LCD HDTVs aimed at hardcore home theater enthusiasts and design-conscious consumers. The Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR7 LCD TV features 240Hz high frame rate technology, promising improved motion detail in movies, sports and video games. Meanwhile, the Sony Bravia KLV-40ZX1M LCD monitor features a ultra-slim design measuring just 9.9mm, or about the thickness of a CD jewel case.

The full HD 1080p 52-inch Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR7 incorporates Sony's new Motionflow 240Hz algorithm, which goes beyond 120Hz technology by quadrupling the frame rate of conventional LCD TVs and interpolating three new frames. The result is claimed to be a TV delivering more natural and crisp motion.
Other picture enhancements include Sony's Advanced Contrast Enhancer (ACE), which helps deliver a dynamic contrast ratio of 80,000:1 and Bravia Engine 2, Sony's digital video processor that enhances all incoming signals to match the TV's 1080p resolution.
The Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR7 is also compatible with Sony's Bravia Link modules providing the ability to add features such as the Bravia DVD Link, the Bravia Wireless link, the Bravia Input Link, which will ship later this year, and the currently available Bravia Internet Video Link. The latter enables users to stream on-demand entertainment including movies, TV programs, YouTube videos and a variety of other online content via an existing wired broadband connection. The content is navigated with Sony's Xross Media Bar (XMB) user interface.
Inputs found on the Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR7 include four 1080/60 24p HDMI connections (HDCP), two 1080/60p HD component inputs, a 1080/60p-capable PC input and an Ethernet port. Check out other new models in the XBR6, XBR7 and XBR8 series here.

Sony is also introducing the 40-inch 1080p Sony Bravia KLV-40ZX1M flat panel LCD monitor. The model features an edge-lit wide color gamut LED backlight claimed to improve color reproduction and contrast levels. The ultra-slim TV weighs about 26 pounds and measures just 9.9mm deep.
Additionally, the Sony Bravia KLV-40ZX1M features Sony's Bravia Engine 2, a single HDMI input and compatibility with Sony's Bravia Wireless Link. The Wireless Link allows users to stream HD content wirelessly to the monitor from HD sources such as a set-top cable or satellite tuner or a Blu-ray disc player. Other optional accessories include a flat-matching speaker bar with four full-range speakers and two tweeters and a wall-hugging bracket that completes the package.
Both the Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR7 and the Sony Bravia KLV-40ZX1M will ship in December 2008.
