Sprint today announced availability of its latest Nextel Direct Connect phone - the Motorola Renegade V950. The new handset features a clamshell form factor built to Military specifications 810F for dust, shock, vibration and blowing rain and incorporates Nextel Direct Connect push-to-talk services as well as EV-DO connectivity.
Powered by Qualcomm's QChat technology, the Motorola Renegade V950 provides push-to-talk services while operating on certain Rev. A portions of Sprint's EV-DO network. Users can use one-to-one push-to-talk communication that is interoperable with the existing Nextel Direct Connect customer base, as well as one-to-many Group Connect communication.
Other key features available on the Motorola Renegade V950 include Sprint Music Store, Sprint Radio, Sprint TV and Sprint Navigation. Additionally, the Motorola Renegade V950 sports a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth with stereo support and instant messaging.
The Motorola Renegade V950 is available now for $180 with a two-year Sprint contract. A $50 mail-in rebate is available when signing up for a qualifying plan.
Sprint today also released the Motorola i365 rugged phone, which unlike the Motorola Renegade V950 operates on Sprint's iDEN for Nextel Direct Connect network. The Motorola i365 is available now for $90 with a two-year contract.
