The 9-megapixel Canon PowerShot SX110 IS succeeds the 8-megapixel SX100 IS, offering a slightly larger sensor and LCD screen.
Canon today unveiled the Canon PowerShot SX110 IS, a performance camera succeeding last year's SX100 IS. The new Canon PowerShot SX110 IS offers users all the benefits of a point-and-shoot, but with the superzoom optical range needed to capture shots from the orchestra when seated in the balcony. Compare the two cameras here.
The Canon PowerShot SX110 IS features a 9-megapixel 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor, DIGIC III image processor, 3-inch LCD screen and 10x optical zoom with a focal length of 36-360mm equivalent. The camera's lens is also optically stabilized to help reduce camera shake, and the Canon PowerShot SX110 IS features High ISO Auto which takes into account the subject's movement.
Building upon the user-friendly concept of the PowerShot family, the Canon PowerShot SX110 IS feature Easy Mode, which limits camera functions to the basics for simplified operation. In addition the camera offers Manual and Program AE modes offering more exposure control for creative shots. The Canon PowerShot SX110 IS also offers face and motion detection technology, as well as a flash with red-eye correction.
The Canon PowerShot SX110 IS is available now, selling for approximately $300.
