The new Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD superzoom camera offers a 15x optical zoom lens, 10-megapixel sensor and 720p HD video recording.
Fujifilm today announced the Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD, featuring a Fujinon 15x optical zoom lens (27.6-414mm 35mm equivalent) and 720p HD video recording capabilities. Measuring 4.4 by 3.1 by 3 inches and weighing 13 ounces, the Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD joins top-performing Fujifilm cameras like the S100fs and the S8100fd. In fact, the new Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD camera seems to be offering the same sensor as the S8100fd, a 10-megapixel 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor.
In addition to shooting 720p HD video, the Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD shoots images in full HD resolution (3648 x 2056 pixels, 1920 x 1080 pixels) and uses sensor shift image stabilization to avoid blurry images. When shooting 5-megapixel images, the camera offers a high sensitivity mode (ISO 6400/3200), while at full resolution (10 megapixels) the sensitivity is limited to a maximum ISO 1600.
The Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD promises an intelligent flash, which claims to capture both the subject and the background with natural brightness. Furthermore, a "Natural Light & with Flash" mode captures the same scene twice, once at high sensitivity with natural light and once with Intelligent Flash.
A host of scene modes are also available, including Portrait, Landscape, Sport, Night and Close up to name a few. More importantly, the Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD offers various exposure modes including Manual [M], Shutter Priority Auto [S] and Program Auto [P]. A Movie mode and a Custom mode is also available. The Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD offers a shutter speed of 1/4 to 1/1000 sec. in auto mode, and 4 to 1/1000 sec. in all other modes.
Playback functions include face detection with red-eye removal, scrap book view slide show and a post shot assist window; all to be viewed on a 2.7-inch (230K dots) screen.
The Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD will be available in the early fall of 2008.
