New Nikon compacts offer 14.5- and 10-megapixel sensors, respectively. Check them out here.
Nikon today announced the chic S710, combining style with shooting modes such as Program, Aperture, Manual and Shutter priority modes. Further expanding the Style series of Coolpix cameras, the camera features a 14.5-megapixel sensor and a 3.6x Zoom-NIKKOR wide-angle glass lens in a stainless steel body.
The camera has four features to reduce image blur: full-time Optical VR image stabilization, a new Motion Detection feature (auto high ISO and shutter speed), Best Shot Selector (snaps multiple frames and automatically selects the best one) and a high ISO range up to 12800.
The camera also provides users with options such as Programmed Auto [P], Shutter Priority Auto [S], Aperture Priority Auto [A] and Manual [M] modes. It also includes Scene Auto Selector mode, which selects between six common scene modes: Close-up, Portrait, Landscape, Backlight, Night Portrait and Night Landscape.
Other features include red-eye fix, D-Lighting and Face Priority AF. The latter is claimed to detect up to 12 faces within one frame, while D-Lighting is claimed to compensate for excessive back-light or insufficient flash in images. The camera also sport a 3-inch LCD screen.
The camera will be available in September 2008 for $380.
Nikon today also introduced the S560, featuring a 10-megapixel sensor, a 5x Zoom-NIKKOR lens, Optical VR image stabilization and 15 scene modes. Furthermore, the camera incorporates a 2.7-inch LCD screen, ISO capabilities up to 3200 in a lightweight body. The camera will be available in September 2008 for $250.
