Motorola ROKR EM30, EM28, EM25 music phones unveiledBy Sindre Lia, Tuesday 5 August 2008
Aiming to re-gain mass attention, the new Motorola ROKR EM30, EM28 and EM25 music phones succeed the ROKR E8.

Motorola today expands its ROKR portfolio with the introduction of three new music-optimized devices that provide a range of styles for mobile music fans. The lineup includes the Motorola ROKR EM30, a candybar phone using Motorola's ModeShift technology, ROKR EM28, a clamshell device with sonic features and touch-sensitive keys, and ROKR EM25, a slider with FM radio sharing capabilities.

The Motorola ROKR EM30 uses Motorola's ModeShift technology to illuminate the keyboard -- red keys illuminate in music mode and a blue keypad appears in phone mode. In addition to the basics in talking and texting, the Motorola ROKR EM30 offers a 3.5mm stereo headset jack and Windows Media Player 11 compatibility. A microSD slot supporting 8GB memory cards has also been incorporated, along with stereo Bluetooth support and an FM radio with RDS technology. The Motorola ROKR EM30 is expected to be available in August 2008.

The Motorola ROKR EM28 offers mobile music in a familiar clamshell design and allows users to control their music using touch-sensitive keys that appear only when they're needed. An external screen on the front of the phone shows the name of the artist and song. The Motorola ROKR EM28 also features a 3D sound effect and an audio equalizer provides 11 pre-set music genres, including rock, reggae and pop. Users can also boost the bass up to nine decibels. The Motorola ROKR EM28 should be available later this fall.

The Motorola ROKR EM25 slider phone offers dedicated music controls and a new FMShare feature, which enables users to share a favorite station with friends by sending it in a text message using SONGID technology. It should start shipping across the globe later this fall.
