Boasting a range of productivity features, the Sony Vaio BZ notebook is aimed at IT professionals and business customers.
Sony today announced a new line of professional notebooks, the Sony Vaio BZ series. Built for business, these notebooks incorporate the compatibility and productivity features required by IT professionals and business customers.
The Sony Vaio BZ notebook (full specs for premium model) boasts a 15.4-inch widescreen display and full-size keyboard while weighing less than six pounds. An optional anti-glare screen is available, featuring Sony's XBRITE LCD technology.
The Sony Vaio BZ is housed in a magnesium alloy casing to endure the knocks, bumps and accidents common to frequent travel, and also incorporates G-Sensor Shock Protection technology to counteract sudden movements helping to prevent damage and data loss.
A spill-resistant keyboard panel has been added to help protect the internal components of the computer against accidental spills. The Sony Vaio BZ notebook is also powered by new Intel Centrino 2 technology.
Select models come with Intel vPro technology, enabling IT managers to fix PC-related problems remotely. The Sony Vaio BZ also features a stripped-down software load so that the notebook can be imaged faster.
The Sony Vaio BZ employs a biometric fingerprint sensor, a Trusted Platform Module compliant chip and proprietary hard disk drive password protection software to help protect data from unauthorized access.
The Sony Vaio BZ will be available in late July 2008, starting at about $1000.
