A couple of readers have asked questions related to e-mail attachments. Let's find out which phones to consider.
Productivity smartphones offering finger-based interaction in addition to QWERTY thumbboards are pretty hot right now. The latest and greatest of the kind will be the HTC Touch Pro, which will likely be picked up by all major carriers (which would be T-Mobile's first 3G enabled productivity smartphone). The fact that Sony Ericsson has been working with HTC to come up with a productivity smartphone offering finger-based interaction, will also further strengthen Windows Mobile's position in this market, at least for a while.
According to NewsWireless, Apple could take a stab at Windows Mobile's core market in mid-2009. In addition, HTC is already working closely with Google on creating Android based smartphones, and we assume Google wants to go after Windows Mobile's core market too, at least eventually. On top of that, 2009 will likely also be the year when Nokia brings touchscreen functionality to its business smartphones for real. But for now, here are the productivity smartphones that currently matters:
Upcoming productivity smartphones with finger-based interaction:
Score: 65% When: November 2007 Worth: $400 Carrier: Verizon Wireless
We get deja vu opening up the XV6800, the latest QWERTY slider from HTC. Does the wealth of buttons and radios distinguish this phone from the friends?
Score: 67% When: May 2007 Worth: $350 Carrier: T-Mobile
Designed with consumers in mind, T-Mobile's new Windows Mobile 6 smartphone features MyFaves and Wi-Fi. Will it inspire a whole new crowd of smartphone fans?
