The Nokia 7610 Supernova is the star of Nokia's new range of stylish mobile phones for both women and men. Three other Supernova phones will also be available.

With the launch of its new Supernova series of mobile phones, Nokia aims to offer a set of stylish mobile phones aimed at both men and women, which comes as an addition to the L'Amour collection of fashion phones for women in the 7-series. These new phones can easily be described as competitors to LG's popular Shine and Chocolate phones.

Nokia 7610 Supernova slider phone

Featuring a slide design and smooth curves, the Nokia 7610 Supernova (specs) offers Xpress-On covers in a choice of a set of Steel Blue and Red covers offset by a muted gray front surface, or Bright Lilac and Steel Blue contrasted against a white front surface. A new Theme Colorizer feature lets a user further tailor a look by applying colors to the phone's key illumination and wallpaper.

Additional features include a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus, instant messaging and TV out for image sharing. The Nokia 7610 Supernova also offer a dedicated music key, FM radio, an MP3 player and access to Nokia Music Store (where available) via the Nokia Music PC Client.

Operating on GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 networks, the Nokia 7610 Supernova will work with both AT&T and T-Mobile networks. According to Nokia, the European sales package will include a 512MB microSD card, while the North American sales package will include a 2GB microSD card. Nokia operates with a suggested retail price of 225 EUR before subsidies in Europe, while an unlocked version for the U.S. market will likely cost in the range of $300 to $350. Expected availability is set to the third quarter of 2008.

The Nokia 7510 Supernova (specs) boasts a clamshell design with a push-to-open side key. Available with Xpress-On front and back covers in Storm Blue, Red, Emerald Green and Espresso Brown, the Nokia 7510 features light effects with a hidden-until-lit display and a reminder light. The Nokia 7510 Supernova also features a 2-megapixel camera (with a new proprietary processing algorithm for better pictures in poor lighting conditions), a 512MB microSD card, a 2.2-inch QVGA display and a new Nokia web browser providing access to Nokia Search, Share on OVI and Flickr. Additional features include a link to YouTube, access to Nokia Maps 1.2 and support for A-GPS and the Nokia WidSets service. The Nokia 7510 operates on Quadband GSM/EDGE networks and will be available in Europe for 180 EUR in the fourth quarter of 2008.

Nokia 7310, 7210 Supernova candybar phones

Nokia today also announced the Nokia 7310 Supernova and Nokia 7210 Supernova candybar phones. The former will be available immediately in Europe (155 EUR), featuring Xpress-On covers etched with 3D textured designs, a 2-megapixel camera and a music player. The Nokia 7210 will be available in Europe in the third quarter of 2008 (120 EUR), a phone Nokia claims will provide easy photo sharing through a 2-megapixel camera and access to Flickr.
