Following the worldwide carrier subsidizing of the Apple 3G iPhone, missing features to the iPhone platform should be added soon.

The list of missing features were pretty long when the Apple iPhone was initially announced back in January 2007, however, Apple has checked off quite a few of them at an impressive rate since then. There are still a few ones left on the list though, such as support for MMS, voice dialing, Flash and Java.

Sun has announced that they'll release a Java Virtual Machine for the iPhone this summer (based on the Apple SDK), and we think it's also just a matter of time before the iPhone platform will get voice dialing and commands, either via a firmware upgrade or through third-party developers.

Since a large part of the new carriers that will subsidize the Apple iPhone 3G have significant revenues coming from MMS services, it's also likely to believe that Apple will add such support soon. The more basic carrier services Apple supports, the heavier the iPhone family will be promoted by the same carriers in the long run.

Lastly, like the above-mentioned Java engine, Adobe will use the Apple SDK to make sure that Flash is finally coming to the iPhone soon. Now that Steve Jobs has gotten a platform that everyone is running to, and possibly achieved what he has always wanted, we assume he'll sit back and watch it all unfold?
