The HP iPAQ 900 will finally be released in late June, featuring Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and turn-by-turn GPS navigation.
HP today announced the first shipment date of the HP iPAQ 900 Business Messenger, a 3G smartphone designed for mobile productivity (specifications). Available worldwide beginning June 30, the HP iPAQ 900 Business Messenger boasts Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, an integrated QWERTY keyboard and the latest wireless technologies.
The HP iPAQ 900 Business Messenger also offers voice and mobile e-mail communications, along with support for business applications. It uses tri-band UMTS/HSDPA and quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE wireless technology to allow customers to make calls and access the Internet. The HP iPAQ 900 also supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.
The HP iPAQ 900 features an alphanumeric QWERTY thumb keyboard, a touchscreen display and a five-way navigation button and scroll wheel on the side allowing one-handed navigation through menus and e-mails. Built-in Cyberon Voice Commander and HP Voice Reply features enable hands-free e-mailing and other device commands.
The HP iPAQ 900 also comes with built-in GPS and turn-by-turn navigation, as well as featuring Microsoft Internet Sharing software to simplify the process of connecting to the Internet with a notebook PC. The smartphone also incorporates a 3-megapixel camera. Photos captured with an HP iPAQ can be directly uploaded to Snapfish and other online photo services.
The HP iPAQ 900 Series Business Messenger will be available worldwide. Shipping dates and prices will vary by region, but the smartphone is expected to begin shipping by June 30.
