The announcement of Apple's new 3G iPhone is only hours away. Check out what it'll go up against later this month.
Two new all-touch smartphones, the Apple iPhone 3G and the RIM BlackBerry Thunder 9500 will be released this summer on AT&T Wireless and Verizon Wireless, respectively. Both will feel the heat from a long list of competitors, as multimedia and business features are now about to go hand in hand in several touchscreen phones.
HTC is determined to meet the increased competition, and has already announced two new smartphones to take advantage of its new TouchFLO 3D interface: the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro.
Samsung, on the other hand, almost have more touch interfaces on the market than most manufacturers have touchscreen phones, most notably for U.S. consumers, the Samsung Instinct on Sprint and the Samsung Glyde on Verizon Wireless.
LG has taken things even further, adding MediaFLO Mobile TV to the mix through the Voyager on Verizon Wireless and Vu on AT&T. And even Sony Ericsson seems ready to take a serious stab at the touchscreen phone market through the Xperia X1, while Nokia is working hard to bring the Nokia Tube touchscreen phone to the market already this year.
Simply put, last summer's touchscreen phone craze is nothing compared to what it'll look like this summer and fall. Stay tuned for our in-depth reviews of all the new phones coming out this summer.
