Pioneer's most recent Blu-ray disc players boast a range of high-end features, and the Elite player comes with touch key buttons.
Pioneer today introduced six new plasma HDTVs, two Blu-ray disc players and four new A/V receivers. The Pioneer Elite BDP-05FD and BDP-51FD BonusView Blu-ray disc players feature picture-in-picture interactivity and a redesigned platform that should significantly improve overall performance. Basic tasks such as disc load, power on, power off and disc eject times should for instance go faster.

Both players sport HDMI 1.3a with 12-bit Deep Color, aiming to deliver an improved range of hues and shades. A 1080p/True 24 fps video output should also reduce image judder when playing Blu-ray disc movies. The players also include a proprietary PureCinema Deinterlacer, aiming to eliminate lines that can negatively affect the viewing experience.
The new players also support all advanced audio formats, with the ability to decode Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus, DTS HD and DTS HD Master. To ensure a higher level of audio performance, Pioneer has selected Wolfson Digital Audio Converters. In addition, the Elite BDP-05FD features gold-plated connection ports, capacitance touch key buttons and an aluminum front panel.
The Pioneer Elite BDP-05FD and BDP-51FD BonusView Blu-ray Disc players will begin shipping this summer for suggested prices of $799 and $599, respectively.
