No less than nine new cell phones equipped with 5-megapixel camera sensors will be released in the months ahead.
Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and LG are all aiming to attract camera enthusiasts this spring, and Motorola is planning to release a 5-megapixel camera phone by the end of 2008. The latter will be featuring Kodak's KAC-05020 image sensor, enabling imagery up to ISO 3200 and support for 720p video at 30 fps.
In the next few months, several new cell phones sporting Sony Cyber-shot (Sony Ericsson) and Carl Zeiss (Nokia) optics will hit store shelves. The most anticipated camera phone is certainly the Sony Ericsson G902, which incorporates some cool camera features controlled by the phone's touchscreen. Samsung and LG also have a few camera phones to be released, and it'll be interesting to see if these manufacturers have been able to improve the camera technology found in their current offerings, the Samsung G800 and LG Viewty.
