SeaLife's new DC800 digital camera is guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 200 feet, and comes with a range of underwater modes.
SeaLife's new DC800 digital camera targets users looking for a camera solution that can be used underwater as well as on land. The slim DC800 functions just as well top-side as it does under water by removing the camera from its waterproof housing. The 8-megapixel camera includes a wide-angle optical lens with 4x optical zoom, auto focus up to 2 inches (5 cm), and features a video mode, allowing users to capture digital video with sound. The DC800 has a very low shutter lag and quick-start for fast action photography.
The SeaLife DC800 features five underwater modes. The Sea mode exposure program has three UW color correction settings (Oceans Blue, Oceans Green, Rivers/Lakes) to adjust colors depending on the color of the water you're diving in. In use with SeaLife Digital Pro Flash accessory, two external flash mode settings (Auto/Manual) allow users more flexibility. SPY mode allows the camera to take continuous pictures at set time intervals from 5 seconds to 5 minutes. The camera will automatically take pictures until the memory card is full.
Guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 200 feet (60 meters), the camera measures 3.5 by 5.5 by 3.4 inches and weighs approximately 17 ounces in its housing. When removed from the housing, the camera measures 2.3 by 3.6 by 1.1 inches and weighs 4.7 ounces. The SeaLife DC800 includes 32MB of built-in memory, and an SD/SDHC memory slot supports cards up to 4GB.
The SeaLife DC800 is available at dive and photo shops nationwide at a suggested retail price of $550. Full specifications of the camera can be found here.
