BenQ promises an affordable entry-level camera in the new E800, sporting several auto-modes and a QVGA display.
BenQ announced today the launch of their latest digital camera, the 8-megapixel E800 featuring a 2.7-inch display, 3x optical zoom and ISO 1600. Introduced as an affordable, entry-level camera, the E800 offers users numerous modes including "Smile Catch", "Shake-free" and "Auto Face Tracking". The latter can fine-tune up to eight faces in one frame.
The BenQ E800 also sports 13 scene modes, including "Museum", "Party", "Beach" and "Fireworks". When recording video (640 x 480 pixels, 15 fps), users are able to focus up close or capture greater scenery with a "Movie Optical Zoom" feature.
The camera also boasts a shutter speed of 1/2000 to 8 seconds, and a focal length of 34 to 102 mm (35mm equivalent). For storage of pictures and videos, the E800 incorporates a SD/SDHC memory slot. The camera also sports a 2.7-inch QVGA screen.
Measuring 2.29 by 3.66 by 0.85 inches and weighing 4.94 ounces, the BenQ E800 will be available worldwide by the end of May 2008. Full specifications of the BenQ E800 can be found here.
