The Asus P320 is certainly a small Windows Mobile touchscreen phone, but not the smallest we've seen. It seemed a little larger than the HTC Touch, and like that touchscreen WinMo device, it offers a few trade-offs. First of all, while Asus has been upgrading Windows Mobile for their high-end, ZX1 Lamborghini phones, the P320 we got our hands on at CTIA 2008 was running plain-Jane Windows Mobile. Second, instead of 3G connectivity, the P320 offers only EDGE, which is fine for e-mailing and messaging, but will hurt business users who want a tethered modem. Happily, the P320 is one of the smallest low-end smartphones to include a GPS sensor, which the HTC Touch lacks. The P320 carries an unsubsidized price of 300 Euros, about $450, so hopefully this will see a serious reduction as it makes its way stateside. We were impressed by the small size and touch interface, but for a low-end smartphone, we can't see U.S. customers paying so much. Release: August 2008. Price: $450.
Pros: Small and light, with GPS and all-touch interface.
Cons: No 3G networking. No interface tweaks. Pricey in Europe.
