Without a specific carrier, these slim, shiny sliders bring Nokia back to CDMA, perhaps even in the U.S.

There isn't much to say about the Nokia 3606, except that Nokia doesn't launch many (any?) CDMA phones in North America these days, which makes this handset stick out. With a little brother, the Nokia 1606 (see our gallery here), the Nokia 3606 will be available on upcoming CDMA services using the AWS 1700 and 2100 band spectrum. This means you won't be seeing them on Verizon and Sprint, until Verizon Wireless opens up a bit, and then, who knows? Until then, no reason to be too jealous. The phones run a Symbian S40-like OS, not exactly the real thing. And, the most interesting feature we saw on the show floor was the Nokia 1606's flashlight mode. Could have been better, but Nokia isn't the biggest CDMA supporter. Oh well. Release: October 2008.
Pros: Slim, slick design. Simple and light.
Cons: Lacks lots of features, or a full Symbian S40 OS.
