Sony's HDR-TG1 packs full HD video and 4-megapixel photography into a mere 15 cubic inches
Today Sony announced the forthcoming availability of their HDR-TG1 camcorder, which sports full HD resolution (1920x1080) and 4-megapixel stills. The kicker is that all this is available in a titanium body measured at 1.3-inches wide, 4.7-inches tall, and 2.5-inches deep, making the HDR-TG1 the smallest, fully-featured HD camcorder ever released.
The HDR-TG1 also supports advanced face-detection, a 10x Carl Zeiss lens, and a CMOS sensor coupled to Sony's "Bionz" processor, which performs noise reduction. Audio-wise, the camcorder features a built-in zoom mic, which records to 5.1-channel Dolby Digital. The HDR-TG1 records both movies and still to Sony's Memory Stick Pro DUO media, and it will come bundled with a 4-gigabyte stick.
The HDR-TG1 should be available in May at an MSRP of $900.
