Microsoft has finally given Windows Mobile 6 a bit of the graphical polish it needed. Is there more under the hood?

Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 There are a few nice tricks up Windows Mobile 6.1's sleeve, but mostly you'll just be staring at the frilly new shirt. The Today screen gets some spit and polish, with some organizational help as well. What impressed us the most, though, was how snappy the OS seemed running on a Samsung BlackJack 2. The graphical interface seemed much more responsive. Additions like cut and paste and multiple message selection are long overdue, and completely welcome. Best of all, this should be a free update, which finally makes Windows Mobile 6 the upgrade it should have been. Now, on to the net round, where we expect to see real desktop grade browsing, with flash, by the end of the year. Release: April 2008.
Pros: Improved Today screen, additional features. Prettier looking, runs snappy on existing hardware.
Cons: Not the complete overhaul Windows Mobile might need. Improvement to browsing and media features still to come.
