Pentax touts auto-macro, blink detection and a bundle of built-in memory on the new, 8-megapixel V20.
Today Pentax revealed their newest point-and-shoot camera, the 8-megapixel Optio V20. Beyond its "ultra-slim and stylish" design, the camera features the usual suspects: face detection, auto-tracking AF, a 3” LCD viewfinder, and a 5x zoom are all accounted for.
Not so usual is the camera’s ‘blink detection,’ which reports a warning to the photographer should any eyelids be unbecomingly closed in a portrait. The camera also not only features macro focus, but automatically enters into macro-mode when a subject is near the lens (up to four inches), thus relieving the photographer from manually having to switch between focus-ranges. Last but not least, the Optio V20 packs a whopping 52 MB of internal memory.
The Pentax Optio V20 is shipping in May 2008 at an MSRP of $279.95 .
