Honestly, the Nokia N-Gage service and games are better than we thought they would be, though that probably owes a great debt to the two little side buttons on the N81 we tested. See, we never doubted the multimedia power of the N-series phones to play games, but we did have our doubts about the gaming control setup on modern phones. The setup wasn't perfect. We definitely would have preferred a joystick, perhaps two for real first-person shooters. But this is a good start, and the best gaming experience we've had on a mobile phone to date, for what that's worth. Release: December 2007.
Pros: Games look pretty good. Controls are manageable, better than we've seen on standard, non-gaming phones.
Cons: Graphics don't compare to a real gaming handheld. Phone could use a joystick for gaming.
