We take a look at HTC's newest touchscreen-only device. With a borrowed overlay from the HTC Touch, does the P3470 make Windows Mobile easier?

The HTC P3470 is a sturdy feeling, slim touchscreen phone. It's a bit bigger than the HTC Dual, though we liked that it borrowed some of that phone's touch overlay for Windows Mobile, though not the entire TouchFLO interface. The P3470 uses a scroll wheel for navigation, and in our hands-on time, we found the same problems with it that we see on every WinMo phone with this input. It wasn't very responsive, and it didn't accelerate our scrolling, or really make things much easier. Without 3G networking, this might be a contender on T-Mobile if it comes stateside, though they might just want to stick with the Shadow. Release: March 2008. Price: $600.
Pros: Slim. Great soft-touch finish on the paint. Modified home screen helps organize Windows Mobile.
Cons: No 3G networking. Scroll wheel isn't our favorite.
