Hands-on with the Motorola Z6w multimedia sliderBy Philip Berne, 12 February 2008
The Motorola Z6w, with Wi-Fi for UMA calls, could be the next phone on T-Mobile's HotSpot @Home service. With it's linux-based interface, is it worth a look?

Motorola Z6w The Motorola Z6w isn't much to gawk at, basically a Z6m slider with Wi-Fi. So why not 3G? It's too bad, because Moto's java-enhanced JUIX OS is snappy and nice looking, with a clean, polished look. And, the Z6 slider is small, but tightly constructed, unlike the more rickety Z8 and Z10 banana sliders. The best part, though, is easily the UMA capabilities, which make this a great possibility for T-Mobile's HotSpot @Home service. Wi-Fi may not make this phone an ideal Web browser, but for HotSpot calling, it's a nice option. We didn't get a chance to test Motorola's vaunted Crystal Talk noise canceling microphone technology at Mobile World, but we've used it on the RAZR2 in the past, so we can vouch for its credentials. Release: July 2008.
Pros: Wi-Fi for UMA calling. Slim, sleek slider design. Nicest UI on a Motorola multimedia phone.
Cons: No 3G, though that might have been overkill.
