The Sony Ericsson C702 CyberShot phone felt a little bulkier than the other phones Sony Ericsson was showing in Barcelona, but for good reason. Though our reps wouldn't let us test the dust and splash resistance at the cocktail hour, they assure us that the C702 meets the standards for these claims. We like the idea; we've tested some nice splash-resistant cameras in the past, so it's only natural to see these features in a phone. And with a good lens and auto focus in front of the 3.2-megapixel sensor, we're curious to see how our wet and wild images look. Release: June 2008. Price: $400.
Pros: Dust and scratch resistant, 3.2-megapixel sensor with face detection auto focus, GPS location-based tagging.
Cons: A little larger than Sony Ericsson's other new phones. Water resistant, not waterproof. Couldn't spill our drinks on it to test.
