Upgrade from Hangar 18:HD includes a Blu-ray burner, 1080p output and support for 4 CableCards and Dolby Digital 7.1 sound.

Alienware has announced a new High Definition Media Server, an upgrade to its current Hangar 18:HD. The upgraded model increases the capacity from 2 terabytes to 4 four terabytes and adds support for up to 4 CableCards and Dolby Digital 7.1 sound.

This rack-mountable, all-in-one machine can hold entire libraries of digitized movies, photos and music with room to spare, and as a media server, it allows users to stream all of that content throughout the home -- to HDTVs, other PCs or gaming systems.

Pricing has not been announced yet, and early signs from Alienware indicate that it will require professional installation.
