If there was one product that dominated CES 2008, it was large, high-definition TVs. Hitachi had a pyramid of HDTVs set up in their booth, but the highlight was the UT42X902, a new 42-inch LCD HDTV that's only 1.5 inches thick. Besides being incredibly thin, the UT42X902 uses Hitachi's "crystal frame" technology that's designed to enhance the precision of the displayed image. The number of high-quality HDTVs out there is staggering, but Hitachi's UT42X902 stands out for its appealing form factor. Release: February 2008. Price: $3700.
